It’s a new month and CME live cattle futures posted impressive gains today, taking out last Friday’s highs with October LC taking out key short-term moving averages while other contract months halted there. Still the market is building on last week’s rally off those big lows (The Beef)

NATIONAL CATTLE TRACKER: The largest steer and heifer string sold this week was 397 heifers (841#) from Yankton, South Dakota at $175.50. The second largest string was 345 steers (750#) from Coffeyville, Kansas at $174.00
